General Family Photos

1947-8 Martha Ferguson & kids, Tom, Dusty, Sandra McCullogh & Irene's baby. I guess that's the Dodge Coup
Nanny referred to... the same one I almost fell out of.

1941, Darlene (Gus) and Martha. I wonder whether that's a rental place, a friends or what?
gen 1
That background is hard to read, almost looks like a dramatic false backdrop. One thing is clear though. Tommy
has to pee. Cousins Sharon & Dave (Butch) Kallio, Patty, Darlene, Tom... but whose the baby?
gen 2
Tom & Patsy LaRue, 1948. The chicken coop to the right. Hasn't been
a chicken coop in a long while but it kept the name. We had chickens
in the early years, I think they may have come with the house.
gen 3
Dusty, Dave (Butch) Kallio, Gus, Sharon Kallio, Patty, Tom. O'Donnell's house behind
us with that great tree working itself greater.
gen 4
1956(?) Jerome Labine, Dusty, Francine Longtine (from across the street) & Tom. Don't know what
that game is we're playing. That kitchen went through its changes... wall paper, white stove.

1948  Patsy & Pete LaRue, Patty, Dusty & Tom

1949  The Dodge coup, Patty & Tom with partridge, Dusty
gen 6
Judy LaRue, Tom & Dusty. That line of houses in the background went through
its changes too. I barely remember the out building. 1949-50. Lot of different cars
parked in that driveway over the years.
gen 8
1954  Carol Jean & Jerome Labine, Dusty, Tom & Peaches. The apple trees are pretty young here. Later the
basement door moved to the right & two windows were installed.
gen 9
April 3, 1955, Dusty's birthday. I recognize Petie LaRue, back row left, Tommy LaRue 3rd from left,
Jerome Labine center dark sweater... don't know which is Dusty.
gen 10
Our backyard, the SE corner. That house (another instance of  a house being built with a pause to
save money to finish it off, in this case the siding. That whole corner of the block was heavily wooded
with a creek running through, an informal play area for the kids, with a Tarzan Swing. I remember
climbing a tree to get at the swing but it was too big for me. I got scared up there and it could have
been a bad situation had I fallen. Who knows how long before someone found me.

Posing outside Longtine's house in a sailor's cap (Tom). 1955

"Stevie & Dad, May 1965. Steve must of caught some of these. Stevie looks more like you every day
aye Tom? Jim Swenor & Dad really got a catch that day - Hope you'll soon be coming home - Be so
glad - the kids can hardly wait, Love, Mom  xxxxx" Apparently sent to me in Vietnam. I got out in July.
Notice, the door to the basement to the right now, two windows installed.
gen 13
Same windows nearly buried, an area kept cleared to hang out clothes to dry. I was always impressed
at how they'd freeze, and confused as to why they then weren't wet when they thawed out.
gen 14
Willard & Vi Labine. Can't really see'em but Willard worked as a janitor for the Catholic church and
always had a pickup. He'd often pick up kids walking home so the back was full of us. Kevrin's now
have their siding on and the house on the left is up in that vacant lot where we used to catch bees in jars
with the lids punctured for air. Strange pets. Don't remember if we released them or what.
