Steven James (Ferg) 1955

Must have been a sample they gave with their (the photographer's) info on it so you'd want to buy a "clean" copy,
which I'm sure Nanny did. She just wouldn't throw anything away so this stayed.
s1
Steve in action... he seemed always to be making the sound of a bulldozer or truck.
s2
In front of the 415 Craig Street house, 1956. Born the same month James Dean died... reincarnation anyone?
s3
The "living room". That bookcase housed encyclopedias.
s4
Steve is clowning it up. Reminds me of candy cigarettes that were available for kids to "practice" on.
s7
Here Steve is in front of the side entrance to 415 Craig, the one most used. He was always doing
something, like shoveling snow, and making spending money by so doing. Whereas us other kids dreaded
and worried ourselves sick about saying our "piece" (a very short little paragraph for Easter) at church,
Steve simply refused to do it.
s9
Reminds me of one of those kids in the 50s movie, Our Gang.

So now we jump to around 2013-4, Steve at Gus' picnic bench, contemplating all those first place finishes.
Steve is not the most cooperative subject for the photographer. He very kindly all but adopted some kids
from a troubled family, Madison & Nicole.  When I referred to him as Steve, Nicole said to me in an inimitable voice,
"His names not Steve, it's Ferg". They're both precocious.

and one more (Steve has many hats). He retired from the railroad September 2015. You could hear the shout
all the way down heah in Georgia.

This is Steve's home, the two garage doors he had me paint images on. Nice views of the Lake from the back.
