Nanny & Papa, over time

on the back: "1934-5, on our way to Mackinac Island to see Lempi - Arne took the picture."
FM 1
on the back: 1932 or 34 Floyd and me in front of our little "Home Sweet Home", in Chatham - Mom & Dad's home.

The wedding photo: Birdie Hill, Charles Posio (I swear I saw him in a sandwich place on the yoop
side of the Mackinac Bridge one year, knew he looked familiar but couldn't place him until I saw
this photo... possibly one of his kids or grandkids), Floyd & Martha, Arne & Lempi, August 31, 1937.
Check out Arne's two-tone shoes.

I got this shot from Gus summer 2015, put it on a memory stick to bring back to Atlanta
so don't know what's on the back. Judging from the baby's age (Gus) it must be 1938.

big jump, to 1962, in the kitchen at 415 Craig Street. The year I graduated & joined (!) the army.
They were 47 and 46 years, respectively.
fm 3
Another jump (below).... no date but taken in front of the most used exit/entry,
through the sun porch (sumporch), into the kitchen.
fm 4
This one may have been earlier than the one above, 3/15/1977, Stone Mountain Park, Atlanta,
when Papa retired and they traveled south, visiting me, staying with Sandy McCoughla (sp?).
Nanny told me that Papa woke up one morning and said, "What the hell are we doing here?"
fm 5
on the back: "about 1980".  In that main room, the kitchen.
fm 6
on the back: "May 26, 1980 Taken in Aunt Tyne's yd, when we had our jeep."
fm 7
on the back: "At Whalstroms, June 19th, 1987, Nanny, Dusti Marie & Papa... our anniversary!"
That must have been their 50th. Papa looks uncomfortable but I have some video of him relaxed
and holding forth at a picnic bench, at the 50th party in Gus' yard.
fm 8
on the back: "Mother's Day 1990". Papa only had 5 months to live.
His cancer was diagnosed in late August. At the kitchen table as usual.
fm 9
no date but looks to be that same year, 1990. Trauma ahead, but many good years. Papa suffered
perhaps 3 months. Easy for me to say, but a small portion of a long life. Of course it wasn't the
only occasion for suffering, having lost parents, siblings and three of his own children.
